11th March, 2010. 10:11 am. Grad school in Europe(squeezemyliver)

I have my BA in archaeology and it is now time for grad school. I would love to go to school in England. I have heard many people say it is quite different than American schools but none of them can really explain it. All they can say is it harder because the academic emphasis is greater.

Does anyone know anything? Thanks!

14th May, 2007. 3:51 pm. Hunter College(ladyy_galadriel)

Hey, I know I've asked this question in this community before, but I'm gonna ask it again. I'm looking for anyone familiar with the graduate Speech-Language Pathology department in Hunter that could give me some info on how the program is. I've only heard from a few people, and what I've heard hasn't been that fabulous, but I wanted to get more opinions. Is it true that they don't care about their students, and that your clinic placement can get all messed up & they wont do anything about it? Anything you could tell me would be great, I'm trying to decide very soon whether or not I'm going there. Thanks!

12th April, 2007. 8:45 pm. Heyy There Everyone!(clotheslinesaga)

Name: Natalie

Location: Oneonta, New York

Current School: State University of New York at Oneonta

Major: Water Resources (hydrology, geology and chem)

Minor: No minor!

Graduate Studies Plan & Degrees Seeking: I'm planning on getting my masters in Hydrology or Hydrogeology. I'd like to do research on hydrologic issues using a "big picture" approach...using my knowledge in hydrology, geology geomorph and geochem ....it's hard to find a program that doesn't hone in on small issues like isotopes

Where Would You Like To Attend Grad School?: University of South Florida, maybe UC Davis

What are your career plans?: I'd like to obtain my MS and then my PhD in hydrogeology - and then figure it out from there! Maybe teach at the university level, or do research, or work for a consulting firm.....who knows.

Anything else you want to tell us?: If getting into graduate school was based on a fear factor like competition I would win. Trying to figure out where I'll be going, what I'll be researching and if I will get funding is exciting but also my own personal hell as of now. Also, I just spent over 400$ on plane tickets and a hotel to visit USF in 2 weeks....so I'm broke. Sweet.

Current mood: stressed.

7th April, 2007. 7:32 pm. Jobs!(ladyy_galadriel)

Hey everyone, my name's Leslie, and starting this fall I'm going to be attenting grad school for speech/language pathology in Brooklyn. I'm looking for a part-time job for the summer and then continuing into the semester. However, I have no idea what to look for. There don't seem to be many job opportunities through the grad schools themselves, so I'm on my own. I'm going to look into teacher's aide positions in various schools, and maybe contact some hospitals to see if they have SLPs who need assistants. Does anyone else have any ideas for me? I'm looking on monster.com, craigslist, indeed.com, etc. and there isn't a whole lot in my area that's also part time. I'm willing to look anywhere in brooklyn or manhattan. Any help would be wonderful, my AIM sn is LadyyGaladriel, my email is ladyygaladriel@yahoo.com, or you can just let me know on here. Thanks in advance for any help :)

Leslie
